RENEE’S REALITY - DECEMBER, 2022

Happy New Year!!!!  My hope is that everyone had a wonderful holiday season!   

To say 2022 was a challenging year is an understatement.  The stock market had a lot of drama.  

We experienced lingering effects from Covid, inflation swells, the war in Ukraine, and supply bottlenecks. 

However, there are reasons for optimism. Although confidence is falling, US consumers are still buying. All the bad news that has come out this year has most likely already been priced into the stock market. And that is a good thing because we can only go up from here! 

 Still, our 40 years of patient investing during traumatic environments spanning the crash of 1987, the dot-com era, the global financial crisis, the U.S. debt downgrade and the Covid plunge have generated some clear patterns. There are common themes to bear markets that, instead of flashing warning signs, can signal buying opportunities.  Remember, we are here, in good times and in bad.   

On a personal note, 2022 wasn’t all bad.  I gained 2 beautiful daughters-in-law and my husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. 

Wishing that 2023 brings Health, Happiness, and Prosperity to everyone.
